Facebook Messenger is a great way to contact people in a less formal and more conversational manner. It provides a great alternative to email or SMS and is especially successful at targeting the younger generation. Please note that in order to send a Facebook Message, you will need an opt-in from your customer. This opt-in is automatically included in the Carts Guru widget that acquires the customer’s Facebook information and will last just for the first 24 hours. After this time frame, you will be able to send 1 more message through this channel.
How to create a Facebook Messenger template
To create your Facebook Messenger template head to the sidebar in your Carts Guru app and click ‘templates’ -> ‘add template’ -> ‘Facebook Messenger’. Now give your template a name and select the base template that is most relevant for the campaign you’re creating.
Once you’ve clicked ‘create’ you will be taken to a draft template with three sections, ‘settings’ ‘sections’ and ‘content’. Under ‘settings’ you will see your template name and will be able to add a UTM campaign, or a CTA name and type.
Under the ‘sections’ tab, you can select what type of content you want in your message. The options here are ‘opening message’ where you have the bulk of your content, ‘products’ where you would include items your customer has already viewed or placed in a cart, ‘recommended products’ that may complement a past purchase, and ‘closing message’ where you sign off. You can select as many or as few content sections you want.
After you’ve decided on the layout of your template, head to ‘content’. Here you will find the sections you chose earlier and have the ability to customize them. You will be able to add text, along with ‘tags’ such as the contact’s name, images, and links to products or carts.
Once you’ve filled in the ‘content’ section you’re done! Just click ‘save and exit’ and your template is ready to be used in a campaign.
