The term ‘campaign’ describes the series of messages you will send a contact or a group of contacts from the moment you elect to start the campaign until the campaign goal is reached.
Your campaign goal has to be one of two things; engagement or conversion. Campaigns that you send for an informative purpose, such as a newsletter campaign, have ‘engagement’ as their goal. This means that once the customer has opened or clicked on your message the campaign’s goal has been reached. If the campaign you are creating is all about making a sale, such as a campaign to retarget a lost customer who abandoned a cart on your site, then the goal would be ‘conversion’. In this case, the campaign won’t be successful until a sale has been made.
There are three types of campaigns that you can build within the Carts Guru platform, and they all have different uses:
- A Time-Trigger Campaign means your campaign goes out to all the chosen recipients on your list at the same time.
- An Action-Trigger Campaign starts when a visitor performs an action.
- A List-Trigger Campaign begins the moment a visitor enters a specific list you have created.

The most important thing to pay attention to when creating a campaign is the user’s journey. You can curate the user’s journey from start to finish in our ‘workflows’ section. Here you build the campaign from the moment the campaign starts, sending different messaging templates to different contacts across different channels. You can input time delays to ensure you don’t pester the same contact with too many messages in a short time, context filters to segment your audience throughout the journey, and triggers so that your campaign reacts to the contact’s engagement to the previous message.
With our workflows, you can truly personalize each contact’s journey and tailor the campaign they receive around their personal characteristics, preferred channel of communication and past behavior.
